Dr Alex Cumberworth
Consultant Anaesthetist
Alex trained at Brighton and Sussex Medical School, graduating with Distinction in 2013. During his medical training he was also awarded a BSc in Physiology from University College London, graduating with first class Honours. Alex spent his first two years of anaesthetic training in south London before moving to the Oxford region for five further years of training. He was awarded the prestigious Nuffield Medal as well as overall Distinction for his performance in the FRCA examinations.
He has been a consultant anaesthetist in the NHS and private sector since 2022. He specialises in anaesthesia for cosmetic, orthopaedic and general surgery. He is skilled in the use of total intravenous anaesthesia, which has a very quick recovery profile and a low risk of postoperative nausea and vomiting. He has completed advanced training in regional anaesthesia and is experienced in using ultrasound for intravenous cannulation.
