Health screening and blood tests at Berkshire Grove Hospital.
Phlebotomy services are available at Berkshire Grove Hospital, serving the surrounding areas of Berkshire, Surrey and London with expert care and reliable blood testing diagnostics.
-
Phlebotomy services are suitable for a wide range of individuals, including those undergoing routine health check-ups, patients with specific medical conditions requiring regular monitoring, and those undergoing diagnostic testing as per their healthcare provider's recommendations. Your appointments and testing will be tailored to each patient’s specific needs.
-
In some cases you may be able to self-refer to the Phlebotomy clinic for routine blood tests or screenings. For specific diagnostic purposes a healthcare provider such as your GP or a specialist may need to provide a referral for the Phlebotomy service.
Your healthcare provider may recommend a blood test to investigate specific health concerns or symptoms, or as part of a routine check-up. Our private GP is available for consultations to discuss any symptoms or concerns you may have, and can refer you to the Phlebotomy service if necessary.
-
First, your Phlebotomist will review your medical history and discuss with you any relevant details. You will also be asked to confirm your identity at the start of your appointment.
A needle will then be expertly inserted into the vein to collect the required amount of blood.
After the blood is collected, a bandage will be applied to the site to prevent further bleeding.
The whole process is quick and relatively pain-free, and our highly skilled team will be there to support you each step of the way with any concerns or anxieties you may have.
The Phlebotomist will then locate a suitable vein, usually in your arm, and clean the area with an antiseptic wipe to ensure the site is sterile.
