Meet Mr Ahmed Raafat brings over two decades of expertise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Berkshire Grove Hospital. His journey in women's health began in 1997 at a prestigious teaching hospital in Cairo, Egypt, where he embarked on his training. Since then, he has dedicated himself to advancing his skills and knowledge to provide the highest quality care to his patients.

In 2003, Mr Raafat relocated to the UK to further his career, undertaking training in the renowned London deanery. Alongside his general Obstetrics and Gynaecology training, he pursued advanced expertise in Minimal Access Surgery, a field that has revolutionised the way surgical procedures are performed, minimising patient discomfort and speeding up recovery times.

As the Lead for minimally invasive surgery and endometriosis at his NHS trust, Mr Raafat is at the forefront of innovation. In 2012, he spearheaded the introduction of Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Robotic Gynaecological Surgery to his department at Wexham Park Hospital, elevating the standard of care for his patients.

Within the NHS, Mr Raafat plays a pivotal role in women's health, running a colposcopy service and serving as a core member of the Gynaecology Oncology team. His expertise in minimal access surgery allows him to provide consultation and surgery for Gynaecological cancer patients through minimally invasive techniques, ensuring optimal outcomes and reduced recovery times.

Beyond his specialised focus, Mr Raafat is committed to holistic care, offering Menopausal Care and Screening for Gynaecological Cancers.
