Dr Islam has extensive expertise in running primary care services. He began his career as a young GP Partner operating a highly successful GP surgery.
During the Covid pandemic, Dr Islam & his team assisted NHS surgeries to develop safe, robust, remote triage models.
He is an advisor for corporates providing consultancy on internalisation strategy. More recently, Dr Islam led the out of hours team to deliver the ‘hospital at home’ service in southwest London, in a new NHS innovative project providing hospital-level care to patients in their own homes.
Dr Islam currently serves the NHS as a GP with a Specialist Interest in Cardiology. This involves providing care in the community to patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmia, and valvular heart disease.
