Meet Nitisha, our new Aesthetic Fellow at Berkshire Grove Hospital

After graduating from Delhi University, Nitisha trained as a general surgeon in New Delhi, India. She then completed her training as a plastic surgeon at Thames Valley Hospital. Nitisha chose to specialise in plastic surgery because she enjoys the variety and creativity of the specialty, as well as its collaborative nature. She is now embarking on an Aesthetic Mentorship approved by the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) at Berkshire Grove Hospital, where she hopes to broaden her knowledge and experience in the field of aesthetic plastic surgery.

During her studies, Nitisha developed a keen interest in reconstructive facial and head and neck surgery, and recently completed a fellowship in Cleft Surgery at Bristol Hospital. Nitisha particularly enjoyed working in a multidisciplinary team setup supporting children and families associated with cleft lip.

Nitisha’s Role at Berkshire Grove Hospital

Whilst at Berkshire Grove Hospital, Nitisha will be observing and assisting consultant plastic surgeons including Fulvio Urso-Baiarda, Sinclair Gore and others in surgical procedures, and joining them for clinic consultations. This will help her to learn how patients are assessed and how the procedures are planned. Throughout her fellowship she will gain experience in aesthetic surgery related to breast and body contouring, before focusing on facial aesthetics.

During this Fellowship, Nitisha will achieve a better understanding of how to plan the most appropriate procedure for our patients, improve her surgical skills, and learn how to provide high-level patient care. She hopes to specialise as a Cleft Surgeon in the future, and this experience will help her to develop the necessary skills to become proficient in a broad range of aesthetic surgical procedures whilst maintaining a strong focus on facial aesthetics.

Nitisha is looking forward to working closely with the team at Berkshire Grove Hospital, and gaining a deeper understanding of the art of aesthetic surgery.
