Brow Lift
Also known as: Forehead Lift, Forehead Rejuvenation, Browplasty
A Brow Lift, also known as a Forehead Lift, is a cosmetic surgical procedure aimed at rejuvenating the appearance of the brow and forehead area. Over time, the effects of ageing, genetics, and sun exposure can cause the brow to droop, resulting in a tired or angry expression. A Brow Lift addresses these concerns by lifting and repositioning the eyebrow position. It can also result in tightening the skin and tissue in the brow and forehead, creating a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

What To Expect With a Brow Lift
Hospital stay: Typically Outpatient (may vary based on individual circumstances), Surgery time: Typically 1-2 hours, Anaesthetic: General or Local Anaesthesia With or Without Sedation
During a Brow Lift the surgeon will make incisions either at the hairline, or along upper contour of the eyebrow, depending on the patient’s needs and desired results. They will then lift and reposition the tissues and muscles within the forehead to reduce wrinkles, smooth forehead lines, and elevate the brows. Excess skin will be removed and the incisions are re-stitched to give a rejuvenated appearance.
Brow Lift Recovery
Following a Brow Lift, patients may experience mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the treated area, which typically subsides within a few days or weeks. Patients can resume light physical activity within a week of their procedure, strenuous activities and exercise should be avoided for several weeks, at which point the sutures will be removed, to allow for proper healing.
Brow Lift Risks
Brow Lift procedures are commonly performed and complications are very rare, however it is important to follow proper post-operative care in order to minimise the risk of infection and allow optimal healing. There is also a small risk that temporary numbness or altered sensation in the forehead or scalp may occur, but this usually resolves over time. In some cases there may be a slight asymmetry in brow position or appearance, which can often be corrected with revision surgery if necessary.
