Lip Lift
A lip lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure to enhance the appearance of the lips by shortening the distance between the upper lip and the base of the nose. This procedure aims to increase lip volume, and enhance the overall balance and proportion of the lips and the face. Lip lifts are suitable for patients who desire a more youthful and aesthetically pleasing lip shape.

What To Expect With a Lip Lift
Hospital stay: Typically Outpatient, Surgery time: Approximately 1-2 hours, Anaesthetic: Local Anaesthetic With or Without Sedation or General Anaesthetic
The surgeon makes a small incision along the base of the nose, usually within the natural crease or just beneath the nostrils, to minimise visible scarring. A strip of skin and tissue is removed from the area above the upper lip to elevate and shorten the lip. The remaining tissue is lifted and stitched into place, resulting in a more lifted and defined upper lip.
Lip Lift Recovery
Patients may experience mild discomfort, swelling, and bruising in the lip and nose area, which can be managed with pain medication and cold compresses. The sutures will typically be removed within 5-10 days after the surgery, however the patient should avoid strenuous activities for several weeks following surgery to promote proper healing and prevent any complications.
Lip Lift Risks
Proper surgical technique and incision placement can help minimise the risk of visible scarring, but some degree of scarring is inevitable. There is a slight risk of asymmetry in lip shape or appearance, although this can be corrected with revision surgery if necessary.
