Also known as: Belt Lipectomy, Circumferential Body Lift, 360 Lower Body Lift

This is a comprehensive surgical procedure aimed at improving the contour and appearance of the lower body by removing excess skin and fat from the abdomen, hips and buttocks. This procedure is suitable for patients who have undergone significant weight loss and are left with loose, sagging skin. Lower Body Lift surgery addresses multiple areas of concern in a single procedure, resulting in a smoother, more toned lower body.

What To Expect With Lower Body Lift

Hospital stay: Typically 1-2 days, Surgery time: Approximately 4-6 hours, Anaesthetic: General Anaesthesia

The surgeon makes a circumferential incision around the waist, extending from the lower abdomen to the back, following the natural contours of the body. Excess skin and fat are removed from the abdomen, hips and buttocks, through a combination of surgical excision and liposuction techniques. In some cases, the underlying abdominal muscles may be tightened to further enhance the abdominal contour and provide additional support. The remaining skin is carefully redraped and tightened to create a smoother, firmer appearance.

Lower Body Lift Recovery

Patients are closely monitored in our hospital following their surgery, with pain management and antibiotics administered as needed. Patients are advised to gradually increase mobility and activity levels, with restrictions on strenuous activities for several weeks. Wearing compression garments is typically recommended to support the newly contoured lower body and minimise swelling. Regular follow-up appointments will be scheduled to monitor healing progress, remove drains, and assess for any complications.

Lower Body Lift Risks

Proper surgical techniques and post-operative care can minimise the risk of infection, but antibiotics may be prescribed if needed. Fluid accumulation (seroma) or blood collection (hematoma) at the surgical site may occur, requiring drainage or aspiration. Delayed wound healing, wound separation, or skin necrosis may occur, particularly in areas where tension is placed on the skin.
