What To Expect With Rhinoplasty
Hospital stay: Usually an outpatient procedure, Surgery time: 3 hours, Anaesthetic: General
Whether you go under a general or local anaesthetic will depend on the shape of your nose and the type of procedure required for your desired outcome. This will be discussed in your consultation.
Rhinoplasty Recovery
You may experience some pain, bruising and swelling, as well as potential nose bleeds. This may last around 3 weeks. You should take painkillers to ease your discomfort. You should have 2 weeks off work and avoid strenuous exercise for 6 weeks. However, you should be able to carry out normal everyday tasks after just a couple of days.
Rhinoplasty Risks
Rhinoplasty is a commonly performed procedure and more cases than not, are very successful. Complications are very rare however, occasionally infection may occur. Bleeding and swelling after the procedure are both normal. However, if this consists alongside pus in your wound and a temperature, this may be a sign of an infection.
