Breast Uplift

Breast uplift, also called mastopexy, breast lift, augmentation mastopexy, is a surgical procedure to lift sagging breasts to create a perkier, more youthful look.

Also known as: Mastopexy, Breast Lift, Augmentation Mastopexy

A breast uplift, also commonly referred to as Mastopexy, reshapes sagging breasts for a firmer, more youthful appearance.

Without altering volume, this procedure will make your breasts firmer and fuller. Your nipple will be moved into a higher position and extra loose skin from the breasts is removed to create a perkier shape and a more “pert” profile. For women looking to change the volume of their breasts, breast enlargement or breast reduction may be more suited.

What To Expect With Breast Uplift Surgery

Hospital stay: 1 night, Surgery time: 1.5 - 2.5 hours, Anaesthetic: General

Prior to undergoing breast uplift surgery, you will have a pre-operative assessment with a nurse to check your general health. You will also have a consultation with your surgeon to discuss your desires and any concerns you may have. Your breast uplift surgery will be performed using general anaesthetic, therefore you should not eat or drink anything in the hours before surgery. You will then stay with us overnight here at Berkshire Grove Hospital, in your own private bedroom with a dedicated nurse to look after you.

Breast Uplift Recovery

Full recovery from breast augmentation surgery usually takes around  4-8 weeks.

You may experience nausea from the general anaesthetic. Soreness, bleeding and some bruising and swelling around the breasts is likely in the weeks after surgery. You will need to wear a good support bra in the weeks following your operation to aid your recovery. It is important that you avoid any strenuous activity for the first four weeks.

Breast Uplift Risks

Every procedure has its risks, yet these risks are largely minimised when the procedure is carried out by one of our highly experienced surgeons. You may experience some temporary redness and swelling after your treatment. A breast uplift is generally regarded as a permanent solution. However, depending upon your age at the time of the surgery, you may experience some minor drooping in the future. Before your procedure you will have a consultation with your surgeon during which you can discuss any concerns you may have.
