Inverted Nipple Correction surgery is relatively simple and can often be carried out with local anaesthetic. Your surgeon will cut around your nipple so that it is free from the surrounding tissue, and re-stitch it so that it protrudes.
Inverted Nipple Correction Surgery Recovery
After your procedure you may experience some tightness, pain and bruising. You will be advised to take painkillers to help to ease this. Usually, there will be no need to stay overnight after your procedure, and you will be able to go home the same day. You should avoid heavy exercise for the first few weeks of recovery, however, you should be able to return to your normal day-to-day activities almost immediately.

Complications and risks following Nipple Correction are very rare, especially when carried out by a highly skilled surgeon. Scarring is usually minimal. Unfortunately, after nipple correction surgery, breastfeeding cannot be guaranteed as the milk ducts will usually have been cut and will no longer be intact.
