Thigh Lift

thigh lift, also called, thighplasty, outer thigh lift, is a surgical procedure to remove sagging skin on the thighs.

Also known as: Thighplasty, Mini Thigh Lift, Outer Thigh Lift, Vertical Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is a great solution to contour excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and a tighter, perkier and younger looking lower body. The procedure can help you to reshape those stubborn areas that you are unable to shift through diet or exercise. A thigh lift is especially beneficial for those who have lost a lot of weight and have been left with loose skin around their bottom and thighs.

Payment plans are available for the booking of Thighplasty. For more information click here.

What To Expect With a Thigh Lift

Hospital stay: 1 night recommended, Surgery time: 2 hours, Anaesthetic: General

During the procedure, your surgeon will make incisions on your thigh and/or buttocks to remove excess skin and fat. After the skin and fat have been removed, incisions will be stitched closed and covered by dressings. Small thin tubes may be temporarily inserted in the wound to drain away any excess fluid.

Thigh Lift Recovery

After your procedure, you will need to take around two weeks off work and avoid any activities during this time too. Full recovery should take around six weeks. You will be advised to take painkillers to reduce any possible swelling and pain. During your recovery it is best to lie down on your stomach or stand as much as you can, avoiding sitting down. You will have a follow up consultation with your surgeon.

Thigh Lift Risks

Complications and risks following Thigh Lifts are very rare, especially when carried out by a highly skilled surgeon. However infection can sometimes occur. In these cases, antibiotics will be prescribed. You may also experience bruising, swelling, pain and scarring. Scars will usually be red to begin with and will gradually become paler. Sometimes fluid collects in the areas where the lift has been performed. It may need to be drained by having a needle through the skin, or by having another operation. As a result of ageing and other circumstances such as pregnancy or weight gain, your body will continue to change after your procedure. You may need further surgery to maintain your desired results.  Before your procedure you will have a consultation with your surgeon during which they will outline all risks of the procedure and you can discuss any concerns you may have.
